Every two years Progressive Neighbors carefully considers and vets candidates in both local and national races.
Below are our voter guides since 2006.
2022 Voter Guide
2022 was a big election with an expanded County Council and County Executive Elrich running for a second term narrowly beating David Blair. We endorsed a number of progressive candidates, many of whom won creating a new dynamic on the council with a majority of women and a progressive bloc which, with the support of the County Executive, voted for rent stabilization, a decades-long fight.
2018 Voter Guide
In 2018 we joined forces with DSA, Our Revolution and Progressive Maryland to publish a joint voter’s guide compiling all our endorsements. Most importantly we endorsed Marc Elrich for County Executive.
2016 Voter Guide
In 2016 we endorsed Bernie Sanders for President and Jamie Raskin for Congress. Jamie won his primary against several other candidates who were much better funded and then won the general election to become Congressman for the 8th Congressional District.
2014 Voter Guide
In 2014 we endorsed Brian Frosh for Maryland Attorney General and Heather Mizeur for Governor.
2012 Voter Guide
In 2012 we endorsed Chris Van Hollan for Congress for the 8th District.
2010 Voter Guide
In 2010 we endorsed Tom Hucker and Roger Manno for House of Delegates.
2008 Voter Guide
In 2008 we endorsed Barack Obama for President and Donna Edwards for Congress both of whom won.
2006 Voter Guide
In 2006 we endorsed Jamie Raskin who ran against Ida Rubin the 32 year incumbent State Senator and beat her handily. We also endorsed Marc Elrich for County Council.
