Candidate Meet & Greet April 26th, 2026

Progressive Neighbors hosted a Meet and Greet for a number of our endorsed candidates on Sunday afternoon April 26thin Takoma Park.  Thanks to Reuben and Cheryl for hosting.  About 50 people showed up to hear the candidates.  Ten candidates (or their representatives) showed up.  The afternoon kicked off with a talk from Congressman Jamie Raskin who reviewed what’s happening in Congress and talked about how he got his start in politics thanks to Mike Tabor and Progressive Neighbors.  Candidates who came or sent a representative included County Executive Marc Elrich (running for council at-large), County Council Members Laurie-Anne Sayles and Kate Stewart (running for reelection), Izola Shaw (running for County Council in District 3), State Delegates Lorig Charkoudian and Vaughn Stewart (running for reelection), candidates for County Council At-Large Josie Caballero (representative) and Fatmata Barrie, and candidates running for the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee Jovy Lopez-Ramos and Gabrielle Zwi.  They answered questions from the hosts and the audience in small groups.  It was a wonderful and informative event.
